Oy Eco Brahe Ltd is an environmental company whose main products are composting facilities mainly for the handling of sludges but also for other biowastes. The facilities built up as turnkey deliveries include all the necessary phases from feasibility studies to commissioning. Other processes and equipment are also implemented as necessary in order to get all material and energy utilized in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective way, and as required by the customer.

The Eco Brahe composting method is a fast and bulking agent-saving process thanks to the vertical composting reactor and patented briquette composting technology. When the compost mixture is pressed into briquettes it is fluffy and offers well aerated oxygen-rich conditions for microbes with a small amount of forced aeration. As a result of this method, energy consumption costs are also low.

The composted material and bulking agent are mixed with a continuously operating mixer, resulting in a homogenous compost mixture. A well controlled mass flow through the vertical reactor at high temperature, with sufficient retention time, ensures good hygienization of the compost.

Because of the homogenous structure and high temperature, the compost process continues steadily in the post-composting phase, even without turning of compost piles.

As a result of years of continued research and development, compost after the Eco Brahe process is ready to be used as products after a short post-composting phase for land restoration, raw material for fertilizers, landscaping of landfills, enhancing soils and acting as a direct growing medium for plants, etc.
